Vibratex is a family business.

Owned and operated by Shay and Dan Martin, Vibratex is a second-generation family run company.

Upon founding the company in 1983, Shay’s parents Suzi and Harold Spielberg recognized that the proliferation of phallic-shaped, flesh-toned vibrators no longer met the needs of the growing number of female consumers. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant sex toys available in Suzi’s home country of Japan, the couple developed an extensive line of playfully designed and brightly colored products. The combination of innovative designs and Japanese quality quickly put Vibratex on the road to becoming one of the most popular names in pleasure. 

One design in particular, the Rabbit Pearl, would go on to launch an entire category of pleasure products. As the first dual-stimulation toy, retailers and distributors were skeptical to say the least. That is, until the Rabbit Pearl made an appearance on Sex and the City. The popularity that followed was immense and led to many copycat designs. Though the product itself has been retired, one thing lives on – the name Rabbit. Chosen because Suzi’s daughter, Shay, was born in the year of the rabbit, the name would go on to be used by countless other manufacturers to describe their dual-stimulation products. 

In the following years under Shay and Dan’s leadership, Vibratex only grew as the sex toy manufacturer known for its commitment to body safe materials, innovative designs, and quality craftsmanship. They’d also become the people responsible for saving the iconic Magic Wand brand.

In the late 1990s, Japanese manufacturer Hitachi had ceased distribution of its beloved massage wand.  The subsequent shortage would make clear the vast demand that Magic Wand had created.  After many conversations, months, and a serendipitous meeting at Hitachi’s small appliance division headquarters in Japan, Vibratex secured the distribution agreement that made Magic Wand widely available in North America again – and ever since.  To this day, Vibratex manages and distributes the world’s most recognizable vibrator, the Magic Wand. 

Vibratex has devoted its sexual wellness experience and industry know-how to strengthen Magic Wand’s presence in media and pop culture, changing the way we talk and think about sex toys, pleasure, and female empowerment.  Over the years, the company expanded the Magic Wand line to its current assortment of five styles – the Original, the Rechargeable, the Plus, the Mini, and the Micro. 

Now beyond its 40th anniversary, Vibratex continues to shape the Magic Wand brand, steward its illustrious legacy, and ensure uninterrupted distribution of Magic Wands to millions of satisfied customers across North America and Australia.
