SILICONE
Silicone is a quality non-porous material which is resistant to bacteria. It is a bit stiffer than an elastomer, and a little less flexible for transmission of vibration. It should only be used with water-based lubricants, as a silicone one can form a build up after multiple uses resulting in layer upon layer of silicone. Silicone items can withstand higher heat, some are made to be dishwasher safe. Most Vibratex items have a battery pack and or motors which cannot be put in the dishwasher.

ELASTOMER
Elastomer is the top performing material for transmitting vibration. It has a unique flexibility which forms a custom fit for different body types. BPA and phthalate-free. No solvents. No latex. Elastomer is compatible with water or silicone based lubricants, and can be washed with a toy cleaner, or mild soap and water. Take care to keep water out of the battery pack. Elastomers will melt at high temperatures. They are not dishwasher safe.

ABS HARD PLASTIC
Superior hard co-polymer plastic. Glossy smooth and impact resistant. Commonly used in medical equipment, protective head gear and quality children's toys. Compatible with any type of lubricant. Easy to clean. Battery compartment must always remain dry.
VINYL
Vinyl has been a very popular toy material because of its flexibilty and good transmission of vibration. It is a hard PVC (Poly vinyl chloride) that is then softened with phthalates for the desired color and flexibility. Vibratex vinyls are food-grade. They are made in Japan and processed with minimal use of phthalates. Vinyl is compatible with water or silicone based lubricants.
